Raipur (thestates.news) | “The First Wealth is Health” – The quote emphasizes that good health is the foundation upon which all other aspects of our lives are built. Health camps are aimed at spreading awareness on health issues and their prevention measures.
Kalinga University in collaboration with Urmila Memorial Hospital, Raipur organized a one-day
free health check-up camp to benefit students and all staff members of the University. The
medical camp was conducted at University campus under the supervision of the Dean of
Students’ Welfare Department led by Lt. Vibha Chandrakar and supported by the team members.
The free health camp was inaugurated by Dr. R. Shridhar, Vice Chancellor -Kalinga University,
along with other team members including Chief Proctor Dr. A. Vijayanand, Lt. Vibha
Chandrakar, Mr. Sheikh Abdul Kadir, Deputy Dean of Students’ Welfare, Ms. Nikita Joshi, Ms.
Suman Chouhan – Staff Nurse, Mr. Kuldeep Singh – Staff Nurse, and others. The event saw
active participation from both national and international students.
The medical team from Urmila Hospital led by Dr. Sangya Shrivastava, Chief Executive Officer
of Urmila Memorial Hospital, Mr. Rajesh Dubey, Corporate Head, and Mr. Chandrakant Gupta,
Marketing Executive, along with the nursing staff members Mr. Thupendrai, Ms. Sonamani, Ms.
Giteshwari, Mr. Somnath, and Mr. Dinesh.
More than 150 national and international students and staff participated in the camp and got
benefitted. The camp included tests like Blood Pressure check, Sugar level test,
Electrocardiogram (ECG), Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), and Urine Flow Test (UFT) for
males.
Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Director of Urmila Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Jinesh Kumar Jain,
Cardiologist, gave interactive presentations during the event which were attended by more than
120 members. Dr. Jain gave thorough information on heart care via a PowerPoint presentation,
and faculty members clarified their queries during the session.
Lt. Vibha Chandrakar, Incharge Dean of Students’ Welfare, and Dr. A. Vijayananad, Chief
Proctor, expressed their appreciation for the collaborative effort and underscored the university’s
commitment to the well-being of its community. A memento was presented to the medical team
by Dr A Vijayanand.
