Raipur (The States. news) Kalinga University, Raipur is a NAAC B+ accredited University and the Only Private University in
Chhattisgarh ranked in Top 151-200 Universities in NIRF Ranking 2021. It has truly emerged as a
Center of Excellence in Higher Education in Central India. Kalinga University, Raipur is a well-
known Educational Institute that focuses on Quality Education and Research. To take the
endeavour of research and development ahead, Kalinga University has established a well
equipped Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF). CIF emphasises to create a research
environment by providing students, faculty, external academic institutes and R&D organizations
with access to high-end research instruments.
Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) of Kalinga University has an objective to provide a central
facility with the latest and the most advanced analytical techniques for cutting edge research in
various areas of Science and Technology. It has enabled its users to excel and keep pace with
global developments and also publish their research findings in high impact factor peer
reviewed journals. Henceforth, contributing towards social upliftment at large. CIF is used by
the Academic/Research Departments of the University. The facilities of CIF are extensively used
by undergraduate, post graduate, doctoral students and faculty members of the University and
also by external organizations from all over India. The facility is extended to external
organizations mainly the academic institutions in the country on a minimal chargeable basis.
The CIF of Kalinga University is offering a complement of sophisticated instruments and
technical expertise to support faculty/student research and industrial R&D. Our mission is to
provide futuristic research infrastructure and quality education services in support of advanced
instrumentation. The Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF), Kalinga University is well equipped
with the state of the art instruments like X-Ray Diffractometer, Scanning Electron Microscope
(SEM), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Thermal Cycler (PCR), Horizontal Mini
Gel Electrophoresis Unit, UV Transilluminator, FT-IR Spectrophotometer, Bio-Chemistry
Analyzer, Touch Screen Viscometer, Digital Viscometer, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Turbidity Meter, Digital Flame Photometer, Rotary Tablet Press. To ensure the implementation and promotion of research culture in and around the University, CIF of Kalinga University is
starting with hands- on training programs on various sophisticated equipments through professionally developed training modules and workshops which will begin from 20 th Dec 2021 at Central Instrumentation Facility of Kalinga University, Raipur.
CIF plans to introduce the hands- on training program through Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) from 20 th – 21 st December 2021, X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) from 7 th -8 th January 2022, Molecular Techniques from 28 th -29 th January 2022, High Performance Liquid Chromatography
(HPLC) on 12 th Feb 2022, Microscopy on 26 th Feb 2022, FT-IR Spectrophotometer on 5 th March 2022, Advanced Instrumentation (Digital Viscometer) on 12 th March 2022, Water Analysis on 17 th March 2022, Protein Analysis on 26 th March 2022 and Biochemistry Analyzer on 9 th April 2022.
This training program is created in such a way that it extends exhaustive training on various applications to the participants. The well-organized training module will benefit Academicians, Scientific officers, Master’s and Ph.D. students and anyone who is associated with various industries like Forensic Science, Biomedical Research, Pharmaceutical Industry, Food Industry, Research & Development Center, Analytical Laboratories, Clinical Science, Polymer & Plastics Industry, Quality Control, Nanoscience, Wire Industries, Element Analysis etc. The participant after attending the hands- on training will be able to understand the technical know‐how, the
use of state‐of‐the‐art equipment, breakthrough knowledge, application and get hands‐on experience necessary for work in a variety of industrial instrumentation. The CIF of Kalinga University that houses many sophisticated analytical instruments are operated and maintained by a dedicated and qualified group of Professors, Scientists and Engineers under the able leadership of Dean, Research of the University, Dr. Byju John.
