Kamal Nath welcomes SC verdict on OBC reservation

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court, while hearing the matter, approved the body elections with OBC reservation.After the decision of the Supreme Court, the Congress party levelling allegations against the state government.Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath has targeted the BJP. Taking a jibe at the BJP, Nath said that “we were saying from day one that elections to Panchayat and urban bodies should not be held” in Madhya Pradesh without OBC reservation, and the government should take all necessary steps regarding this.

We had also fought in the House regarding OBC reservation, and after that, a resolution was also passed unanimously in the House that Panchayat and urban body elections should not be held in Madhya Pradesh without OBC reservation.Welcoming the decision of the court, Kamal Nath said that today the Supreme Court has given a decision to provide relief in the matter of OBC reservation in the state, we welcome it, but the full benefit of OBC reservation has been increased from 14 per cent to 27 percent by our government.

OBC category will still not get as it is mentioned in the decision that the reservation should not be more than 50 percent. He said that we had no hope of doing good for the OBC class from the Shivraj government, so we have already taken the decision that we will give 27 percent ticket to the OBC category in the civic elections and give this class their full rights.Nath said that the Congress would keep our promise under any circumstances, we have a firm determination that the OBC class should get the right and rights of 27 percent reservation, and we will fulfil that under any circumstances. This decision is a victory of the struggle of the Congress and the OBC class, which forced the anti-OBC Shivraj government to bow down.(H.S.)
