Maha Governor leads Raj Bhavan in performing yoga

Mumbai (Thestates.news) | Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais led the officers and staff of Raj Bhavan, Coast Guard and Press Information Bureau in performing yogas on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Maharashtra Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Fri (21 Jun).

The yoga session at Raj Bhavan was conducted jointly by the centenarian ‘Kaivalyadhama’ yoga institute and the Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur (SRMD- Yoga). Addressing the officers and yoga lovers, the Governor called for making yoga the part of everyday life.  Stating that yoga is India’s gift to the world, Governor Bais said as the recipient of the intangible heritage of yoga, it is the responsibility of the people of India to practice yoga and to spread it to others. 

He said apart from maintaining the physical, mental and emotional health of the practitioners, yoga can play an important role in establishing peace in society and the world.  He said as the most youthful nation in the world, India can achieve the goal of Swastha Bharat through yoga. Trustees of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur Atmaprit Rakshit, Ratan Lunawt and Alpa Gandhi, Director of Kaivalyadhama Ravi Dixit were prominent among those present. Ravi Dixit and Devki Desai of SRMD Yoga conducted the yoga sessions.
