MATS University celebrates Independence Day under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’

Raipur (thestates.news) |As India enters its 77th Independence Day on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. MATS University celebrated the Independence Day with great festivity and fervor. In the gleeful presence of Chief Guest Shri Gajaraj Pagariya ji, Chancellor MATS University, 77th national day was celebrated with the zeal of patriotism.  The tricolor flag was hoisted by Pro-chancellor Dr. Deepika Dhand followed by national anthem.

Shri Gajaraj Pagariya ji, gave a speech to commemorate a defining moment in the history of our great nation. He said that India got independence by the sacrifices of great warriors who participated in the freedom struggles. He added that India has been ‘Guru-pradhan’ nation where a Guru or a teacher is given due respect. A Guru is one who leads us to a right path. Anyone who guides us in some point of time is also a Guru. Today on this occasion it is a proud moment that all have gathered here to celebrate the Independence Day. On this event all the faculty members and other staff members were present.

After the flag hoisting, the students who were invited to perform at Raj Bhawan on the state foundation day for Goa, West Bengal and Telangana were called on stage and given certificates of Participation by Shri Gajaraj Pagariya ji. The cultural program started with melodious flute presentation on state song of Chhattisgarh ‘Arpa Pairy’ by Tarun Kurre of MATS School of Information & Technology and proceeded with the students of MATS School of Fashion Designing and Technology who presented a patriotic dance. The next presentation was given by the students of the Department of Psychology, who performed a melodious fusion of songs with the theme of national feeling. The program gained momentum when a tribute to the nation was paid in the classical form by the students of the Department of Arts English who enacted the scenes from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata to show our glorious history.

The program came to an end with a vote of thanks by the Regristrar Mr. Gokulnanda Panda. Shri Panda conveyed wishes for the Independence Day and said that we are here today to celebrate this day because of the sacrifices made by our people.
