MIT-ADT’s 11th Graduation Fashion Show 2026 concludes; industry stalwarts inspire future designers

Pune (thestates.news) :  The Fashion Department at the Institute of Design, MIT Art, Design and Technology University, successfully concluded its 11th Annual Graduation Fashion Show (GFS) 2026, celebrating the creativity and achievements of its graduating cohort (2022–2026).

Students from B.Des Fashion Communication, B.Des Fashion Design, and M.Des Fashion Management & Marketing programmes presented innovative collections, fashion films, publications, and branding projects, reflecting strong creative identity and industry readiness.

The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Rajesh S., Hon. Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad, Hon. Executive President of MIT-ADT University, along with eminent guests from the fashion and industry domain.

Addressing the students, Tina Ranka, Fashion Designer, encouraged them to stay rooted in originality and craftsmanship, stating that authenticity in design is what ultimately defines a successful career in fashion. Santosh Katariya, Managing Director, Peppermint Clothing Pvt. Ltd. and President at CMAI, highlighted the importance of understanding market dynamics and consumer behaviour, urging students to blend creativity with commercial viability. Maddie Amrutkar, Founder & CEO of Glad U Came & Glad We Met, emphasised the role of branding and digital presence, advising graduates to build strong personal identities in an increasingly competitive industry.

Addressing the students, Dr. Mangesh Karad said, “Clothing is far more than a reflection of trends or fleeting fashion cycles; it is a powerful expression of identity. What we wear communicates aspects of who we are—our culture, values, personality, and even our emotions—often before we speak a word. Beyond aesthetics, clothing carries meaning and memory, shaping how individuals perceive themselves and how they are perceived by others. In this way, dress becomes a silent language of identity, deeply personal yet universally understood.”

Among the conveners, Assoc. Prof. Arshiya Kapoor, Head of Department, Fashion; Prof. Dr. Dandeswar Bisoyi, Associate Dean, MIT Institute of Design; and Prof. Dr. Nachiket Thakur, Pro Vice Chancellor – Creative Cluster and Dean, MIT Institute of Design, guided and supported the students throughout the showcase.

The event received wide appreciation for its blend of creativity, conceptual depth, and execution. The Graduation Fashion Show continues to serve as a significant platform for emerging designers, marking their transition from academia to the professional fashion and media landscape.
