New Delhi, (Thestates.news) | The Department of Military Affairs will be conducting two-day intensive brainstorming sessions starting Monday on the Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiative, which will be chaired by Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan. Moreover, Defense Secretary Giridhar Aramane will deliver the keynote address, an official statement said.
The brainstorming will be between the service headquarters and important stakeholders from the Department of Defense Production, defense industry representatives, and other relevant partners.
The event covers a wide range of topics, from the identification of challenges to evolving a way ahead to provide impetus to the indigenization efforts of the Armed Forces, address sustenance-related issues, invigorate private sector participation in defense R&D and manufacturing ecosystems, and most importantly, create and enhance maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities for the Armed Forces.
The implementable way forward derived from consultative and participative processes through high-level deliberations to provide impetus to indigenization and also devise ways and means to enhance the participation of private industry in defense R&D and manufacturing ecosystems will be the key takeaways, the statement added. The HQ IDS and SIDM are coordinating the event, and it will see the participation of key representatives from MoD, services, and industry under one roof to further strengthen the indigenization efforts.
This will pave the way to formulate a time-bound action plan to give impetus to indigenization in the defense sector. (UNI)
