National Voter’s Day to be Celebrated on January 25

Raipur  (thestates.news) | A special programme will be held at the Vivekananda Auditorium of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur on January 25 at 11 am to mark National Voter’s Day. State Election Commissioner, Shri Ajay Singh, will be the chief guest for the occasion. The event will recognize and honor officials and employees who have made significant contributions to election work, acknowledging their dedication and efforts in ensuring the smooth conduct of elections.

Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale announced that three District Collectors will be honored as the Best District Election Officers. Raigarh Collector Shri Kartikeya Goel will receive this recognition for achieving the highest voter turnout in the state, with an impressive 81.66% participation during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Durg Collector Sushri Richa Prakash Choudhary will be felicitated for increasing voter turnout by 2.48% despite being an urban area, compared to the previous Lok Sabha elections. Dantewada Collector Shri Mayank Chaturvedi will also be honored for a remarkable 10.39% increase in voter turnout in a region severely impacted by Naxal activities. Raipur Collector Shri Gaurav Kumar Singh will receive a special award for his outstanding efforts in conducting training for polling parties during the 2024 elections. Rajnandgaon Zila Panchayat CEO Sushri Suruchi Singh will be acknowledged for organizing effective Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities, and Mungeli Zila Panchayat CEO Shri Prabhakar Pandey will be recognized for his efforts in motivating migrant workers to vote through innovative SVEEP initiatives.
