NDA govt will prove majority in Bihar Assembly on Feb 10 : Nitish Kumar

Patna,(Thestates.news)| Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday announced that the NDA government will prove the majority in the Assembly on February 10 after the governor’s address to the joint session of state legislature.

Kumar, who recently took oath as the Chief Minister in the NDA government told news persons here that his government would prove its majority on February 10 and the budget session would continue from February 12.

“Expansion of the cabinet will also take place and we are busy in that”.

Replying to a query about I.N.D.I.A. Alliance, Nitish, who played a pivotal role in its formation said now he has nothing to do with it. Kumar said he had proposed some other name for the alliance but ignoring his suggestions the alliance partners named it as I.N.D.I.A Alliance at their own.

Kumar said none of his suggestions were executed in the alliance and now everyone knows about its situation. Seat sharing issue in the alliance has not been decided even till date and who would contest from where was yet not discussed there, he said.

“Because of the prevailing situation, I decided to walk out of it and came to NDA with which I was and now I will continue with it forever and would work for the development of Bihar and in the interest of its people”, the CM added.

About ED questioning RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Kumar said that the charges against them were continuing since long. Now the ED was investigating and everything will come out on the basis of the investigation report of the ED.

He said no one ever told me about the charges which I came to know only through media reports.

When asked about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi taking the credit of caste census conducted in Bihar, he dubbed it as ridiculous saying that such claims were even beyond imagination.

After taking a decision on it in the political party meeting attended by 9 political parties, it was he who took a delegation of the political parties to the Prime Minister in 2021 on the issue of conducting caste census and conducted in Bihar at his own.

Kumar said that it was he who conducted the caste census in Bihar and maintained that he had given statement on the matter on the floor of the house in 2019 and in 2020.

Rahul Gandhi was unnecessarily trying to take the credit, the Chief Minister said and further maintained that even former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s claims for making appointment of teachers in large number in Bihar was also baseless as it has been done solely by him on which he worked since long.

Retorting sharply at the statement of Tejashwi Prasad Yadav in which he said that his 17 months rule was better and has overpowered the previous 17 years rule, Nitish reminded the scenario till 2005 in Bihar before he came to the power in the state.

Referring to the bleak scenario of Bihar under RJD regime, Kumar alleged that no one dared to step out after sunset in the state which had no sign of development during the period.

Suggesting the media persons to keep on publishing the work being executed by him for development of Bihar, he outlined the development attained during his regime in various sectors including health, education, infrastructure, power, agriculture, road and others. Without taking the name of Tejashwi Yadav who was a kid during the development era, Kumar said that how a child would know all about it.

“I am aware that some people are interested only in publicity without knowing the fact” , he said appointment of teachers was made earlier too and alleged that a child was making tall claims which was meaningless. (uni)
