NITES criticises Infosys for double standards

Bengaluru, (Thestates.news) |NITES President Harpreet Singh Saluja on Monday criticised Infosys for its “double standards” in handling employee assessments and terminations. He stated that while the company now claims to offer employees more preparation time, it did not extend such consideration to the 700 employees it abruptly dismissed on February 7 without prior notice or severance benefits.
Infosys has indefinitely postponed the further assessments for the next batch of employees, citing the need to “give employees more time to study.” However, employee union NITES has alleged that this reasoning is merely a cover-up following backlash over recent terminations. The sudden deferment of assessments is seen as a direct outcome of the pressure exerted by the union and terminated employees.
“Under pressure, Infosys is trying to avoid further controversy, but this fight is far from over. NITES will continue to expose Infosys’ double standards and ensure IT employees’ rights are protected,” Saluja said. The employee union has urged the Karnataka government to intervene and address corporate employment practices to safeguard worker rights. (UNI)
