Odisha CM announces 10 per cent reservation for Agniveer in state’s uniformed Services

Bhubaneswar, (Thestates.news)| Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a 10 per cent reservation for Agniveer of Odisha who is not absorbed in the defence services. Speaking to media persons at Lokseva Bhawan before leaving for Delhi to attend NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, Majhi said the Agniveer, who are trained by our defence forces, are qualified to serve the Nation in various security-related sectors.

He further said that the Agniveer Scheme is a historic initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modiji. This initiative has made our youth able and fearless so that they can face various challenges in life, he added. The Chief Minister said the Odisha Government has decided to recruit Agniveer in the state’s uniformed services.
The State Government, Majhi said will provide up to 10 percent reservation in its Uniformed Services for those Agniveer from the state who are not absorbed in the defence forces.
There will also be 5 years of age relaxation for them, the Chief Minister announced. (UNI)
