On the initiative of CM Vishnudev Sai, Rs 23 crore 64 lakh approved for airport development works

Raipur (thestates.news) | On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the Finance Department has approved Rs 23.64 crore for the development works of Bilaspur, Jagdalpur and Ambikapur airports in Chhattisgarh. With this, works related to infrastructure and security of the airport will be done. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that with the approval of these works, the airports of the state will be upgraded and developed in an effective and systematic manner. This will improve aviation services and will also promote tourism activities.

The Finance Department has approved an amount of more than Rs 2 crore 96 lakh for apron expansion and lighting work at Bilaspur Airport. Under the apron expansion work, the area around the runway of the airport will be increased, which will facilitate parking and operation of aircraft. Along with this, the lighting system of the airport will be upgraded, so that aircraft operations can be made safe and effective at night.

An amount of Rs 20.40 crore has been sanctioned for airstrip improvement for Jagdalpur airport. This will increase the safety and operational capacity of the airport. Isolation bays are constructed to keep the aircraft safe in case of emergency, while road widening will ease traffic. Wire fencing will boost security around the airport.

Similarly, an amount of Rs 27.92 lakh has been sanctioned for the development work of Ambikapur airport. This amount will be used to improve the infrastructure and operational capacity of the airport.
