Raipur (thestates.news) |The commencement of the first phase of ‘Census of India 2027’ in Chhattisgarh has been highly successful. Immense enthusiasm is being witnessed among citizens regarding this fully digital census. Following the activation of the official portal https://se.census.gov.in/, a steady stream of registrations has begun across the state. According to the data given by Directorate of Census Operations, Chhattisgarh approximately 13,400 persons have registered on the portal, out of which 9,002 citizens have successfully completed their Self-Enumeration process. Conducted under the guidance of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, this campaign aims to create a reliable digital data base for accurate socio-economic policies for the coming decade. The self-enumeration option has empowered citizens to record their family details independently, without any external interference.
The process of this digital census has been made extremely simple and secure. Citizens are required to register their mobile numbers on the portal and undergo One-Time Password (OTP) based authentication. Subsequently, the head of the family records information regarding housing conditions, sources of drinking water, energy resources, and personal details of family members such as name, age, gender, marital status, education, and occupation. Upon completion of the process, citizens receive a Census Reference Number (CRN). This number must be presented to the Enumerators during future verification, ensuring that the data synchronization is swift and error-free.(s-pib)
