Paddy lifting for custom milling at a rapid pace in Chhattisgarh

Raipur  (The States. news) Paddy lifting for custom milling is being done at a rapid pace across the state as per the directions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. According to the information received till March 03, 88.18 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted by the millers through DO and TO. Meanwhile, the state government is also working expeditiously to deposit rice in the central pool.  Over 25.61 lakh metric tonnes of quality rice has been deposited in the central pool so far. This includes 14.01 lakh metric tonnes of rice deposited in the Food Corporation of India and 11.60 lakh metric tonnes in the Civil Supplies Corporation.

Food Secretary Mr. Topeshwar Verma informed that on the initiative of the Chief Minister, the work of paddy lifting for custom milling is being done at a rapid pace this year, just like paddy procurement. A record 88.18 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted through DO and TO so far. Mr. Verma informed that DO of 69 lakh 50 thousand metric tonnes of paddy has been issued to DO. The millers have lifted 66 lakh 04 thousand metric tonnes of paddy from the procurement centers. Similarly, T.O. has been issued for the transportation of 23 lakh 37 thousand metric tonnes of paddy. Against which, 22 lakh 14 thousand metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted from the committees. The work of paddy lifting from paddy procurement centers and custom milling is being conducted on a war footing. This year a target has been set to deposit 61.65 lakh metric tonnes of Arva rice in pool.
