Raipur (thestates.news)| The campaign of paddy procurement in Chhattisgarh which was started on November 01 by the state government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel is in full swing and this campaign will continue till 31 January 2023. It is worth mentioning that just in the last seven days, 1 lakh 10 thousand 196 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from farmers in the state on support price. Today on 7th November, 39 thousand 946 metric tonnes of paddy were purchased from the farmers. In lieu of this, a payment of Rs 295.65 crore has been released to the farmers under the bank linking system so far.
Food Department Secretary Topeshwar Verma informed that 16589 tokens were issued to the paddy-selling farmers. In which 1857 tokens were issued by the Tuhar Haath App. Moreover, for the purchase of paddy in the coming days, 21,804 tokens have been issued for the procurement of paddy in the state and 2,269 tokens have been issued through Tuhar Hath App. Due to such measures, Paddy procurement continues uninterrupted in the state and Officials are continuously monitoring the process of paddy procurement. No complaint has been received from anywhere regarding the purchase of paddy.
Officials of the Food Department informed that this year around 110 lakh metric paddy is expected to be procured. Also,25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state for selling paddy on support price, out of which about 1.86 lakh are newly registered farmers. 2497 procurement centers have been set up for the purchase of paddy on support price in the state and this year, normal paddy is being purchased from farmers at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal and grade-A paddy at the rate of Rs 2060 per quintal.
