Padma Vibhushan Dr. Teejan Bai Given Full State Honours as Thousands Gather to Bid Farewell to the Legendary Pandavani Exponent

Raipur (thestates.news) | India bid a solemn farewell to one of its greatest torchbearers of folk tradition as globally acclaimed Pandavani exponent and Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Teejan Bai was given the final farewell with full State honours at her native village, Ganiyari, on Sunday. In accordance with the decision of the Chhattisgarh Government, all official protocols associated with a State funeral were observed during the last rites.

Administrative officials, public representatives, eminent artists, litterateurs and thousands of mourners gathered to pay their final respects to the legendary folk artiste, whose life and work brought global recognition to Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage.
