Piyush Goyal inaugurates Invest India’s Singapore office

New Delhi (thestates.news)|  Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday inaugurated Invest India’s new office in Singapore. The Singapore office is Invest India’s first overseas office. “This significant move reinforces India’s commitment to deepening investment partnerships and making it easier for global investors to engage with India,” an official statement said.

It further said the Singapore office will serve as a dedicated point of contact for companies from the region looking to invest in India, fostering collaboration across sectors. Speaking at the event, Minister Goyal emphasized, “Singapore is a key strategic partner for India, and this office marks a new chapter in our efforts to strengthen economic cooperation with Singapore and the broader ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region.

“We plan to open more overseas Invest India offices in the coming months with an aim to provide global investors seamless access to India’s dynamic and growing economy, “he further said.
Invest India was formed in 2009 under Section 25 of the Companies Act 1956 for promotion of foreign investment into the country. The current shareholding pattern of Invest India is 51% of industry associations (i.e. 17% each of FICCI, CII and NASSCOM) and the remaining 49% of the central and the 19 state governments. (UNI)
