Dharamsala, : Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Sai Maidan in Dharamsala by helicopter at 12 noon on Thursday on a two-day tour of Himachal Pradesh. He started his road show from Himachal Pradesh School Education Board Headquarters which ended at KCC Bank Chowk. During the eight-minute roadshow, thousands of BJP workers on both sides of the road welcomed Modi by showering flowers. During this, the PM continued to greet people in an open jeep. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, State BJP President Suresh Kashyap.
After the roadshow, Modi went to the Dharamsala Cricket Stadium to participate in the meeting of the Chief Secretaries. After the roadshow, a large number of BJP workers took out a rally and demonstrated their strength. People from the Tibetan and Gorkha communities were also present to welcome the PM. Artists from Tipa, the main Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts of Tibetan culture, also arrived to welcome the Prime Minister.
After the roadshow, the Prime Minister presided over an meeting of Chief Secretaries across the country for three days in Dharamsala. In this meeting, a road map will be prepared to take the policies and schemes of the central government to the common people. During the two-day visit, the Prime Minister will rest tonight at the Circuit House in Dharamsala. According to the schedule, on the second day on June 17, Modi will leave for Delhi after participating in the meeting of the Chief Secretaries.(HS)
