PM Modi shares memories with Mulayam Singh Yadav

New Delhi(| Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of former Uttar Pradesh CM Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday. Sharing memories related to the leader, Modi twitted, Mulayam was an unique personality. He was widely appreciated as a humble and down to earth leader who was sensitive towards the problems of the people. He served the people diligently and devoted his life to popularizing the ideals of Loknayak JP and RM Lohia.

In another tweet, PM Modi said that Mulayam made his own identity in UP and national politics. He was a prominent soldier for democracy during the Emergency. As Defence Minister, he worked for a strong India. His parliamentary interventions were practical and emphasised on furthering the national interest. Modi said that when they worked as Chief Ministers of their respective states, he had many conversations with Mulayam. He said that the closeness between them continued and he was always eager to hear Mulayam’s thoughts.

Along with this, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSP leader Mayawati has said that the news of the demise of veteran Samajwadi Party leader and former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav is very sad.(HS)
