PM Narendra Modi to visit Maharashtra

New Delhi, (thestates.news) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra and Goa on Sunday. The Prime Minister will flag off Vande Bharat Express from Nagpur Railway Station and also dedicate the ‘Phase I of Nagpur Metro’ to the nation. He will inaugurate the first phase of the 520 km long Samruddhi Mahamarg (Nagpur-Mumbai) connecting Nagpur and Shirdi.  An official press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that Prime Minister Modi will visit Maharashtra and Goa on December 11. The Prime Minister will reach Nagpur Railway Station at around 9:30 am, where he will flag off the Vande Bharat Express running between Nagpur and Bilaspur.

At a public function in Nagpur, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment work of Nagpur Railway Station and Ajni Railway Station, which will be redeveloped at a cost of ₹590 crore and ₹360 crore, respectively. The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the Government Maintenance Depot, Ajni (Nagpur) and the Kohli-Narkher section of the Nagpur-Itarsi Third Line Project. These projects have been developed at a cost of about ₹110 crore and about ₹450 crore respectively.

At around 10 am, the Prime Minister will take a metro ride from Freedom Park Metro Station to Khapri Metro Station, where he will dedicate the ‘Phase-I of Nagpur Metro’ to the nation. He will flag off two metro trains – Khapri to Automotive Square (Orange Line) and Prajapati Nagar to Lokmanya Nagar (Aqua Line) at Khapri Metro Station. The first phase of Nagpur Metro has been developed at a cost of over ₹8,650 crore. During the program, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Nagpur Metro Phase-2, to be developed at a cost of more than ₹6,700 crore.

At around 10:45 am, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the first phase of the 520 km long Samridhi Mahamarg connecting Nagpur and Shirdi and take a tour of the highway. The Samruddhi Mahamarg or the Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway project is a major step towards realizing the Prime Minister’s vision for better connectivity and infrastructure across the country. This 701 kilometer long expressway is being built at a cost of around ₹55,000 crore. It is one of the longest expressways in India, passing through 10 districts of Maharashtra and major urban areas of Amravati, Aurangabad and Nashik. This expressway will help in improving the connectivity of 14 other districts nearby. Thus helping in the development of about 24 districts of the state including the regions of Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Maharashtra.

Supporting the Prime Minister’s vision in terms of integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects under PM Gati Shakti, Samruddhi Mahamarg will connect Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust and tourist destinations like Ajanta Ellora Caves, Shirdi, Verul, Lonar etc. Will join. Samridhi Mahamarg will prove to be a game-changer in giving a major boost to the economic development of Maharashtra.

The PM  will dedicate AIIMS Nagpur to the nation at around 11:15 am. The foundation stone of this hospital was also laid by the Prime Minister in July 2017. It has been set up under the Central Sector Scheme – Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. AIIMS Nagpur is being developed at a cost of over Rs 1575 crore.

At around 11:30 am, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate rail projects worth over 1500 crores at a public function in Nagpur. He will also lay the foundation stone of National Institute of Forest Health (NIO), Nagpur and Nag River Pollution Abatement Project, Nagpur. During the event, the Prime Minister will dedicate the ‘Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Chandrapur’ to the nation and inaugurate the ‘Centre for Research, Management and Control of Hemoglobinopathies, Chandrapur’.

The PM will address the closing ceremony of the 9th World Ayurveda Congress in Goa at around 3:15 pm. He will also inaugurate three National Institutes of AYUSH during the programme. These institutes have been developed at a total cost of about Rs 970 crore. Through these, the number of hospital beds will increase by about 500 and student admissions will also increase by about 400. At around 5:15 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Mopa International Airport, Goa. The foundation stone of the airport was laid by the Prime Minister himself in November 2016. This airport has been developed at a cost of about ₹2,870 crore.(H.S)
