PM to lead International Yoga Day celebrations from Mysore

New Delhi(thestates.news) | Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead a grand program of International Yoga Day which will be organised in the historic city of Mysore. Due to Covid-19, it was organised online for the last two years.AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal informed about the program in a press conference on Monday and said that due to the effort of Government of India, Yoga should reach every village and gram panchayat this year.

He said all villagers will be actively motivated to do yoga and MPs will also appeal to the people to do yoga in their respective areas. He said that as the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi was being held in this year, the Ministry of AYUSH has planned to hold simultaneous yoga performances at 75 places of historical and cultural importance across the country so that the country can be branded at the global level and people’s attention can be paid to these important places. Apart from this, the Guardian Ring will be the biggest attraction on International Yoga Day (IYD). It will simultaneously capture the digital feed of IDY events organised by Indian Missions abroad. It will start from Japan where the sun rises first. Many countries are being approached for this event.A Yoga session will be held in Hyderabad on May 27, in which about 10,000 people will participate. Many people including the Governor of Telangana, many union Ministers, film stars will be involved in the program.(HS)
