PM’s visit to US resulted in significant outcomes in areas of defense cooperation and strategic technology: Smriti Irani

New Delhi,(thestates.news)| Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani on Friday said the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States has resulted in significant outcome in the areas of defense cooperation and strategic technology. “This was not only the hallmark of the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States of America, but what is unprecedented is the Indo-US partnership in many critical areas, which

will ensure better future of the Indian populace,” she said while addressing a press conference in New Delhi.Speaking over the significance of PM’s visit to the US and other agreements Irani said, “MOU on semiconductor supply chain and innovation partnerships which will promote not only research but commercial opportunities”.”Microtechnology will invest $825 million to build a new semiconductor assembly and test facility in India with the support of the Indian government” she added.

The Minister said, “The combined investment valued at $2.7 billion will create not only direct and indirect job opportunities but we’ll also add a fillip to the Prime Minister’s vision of self-reliant India”Talking about the other areas of investment, the Minister said, “NASA and ISRO will develop a strategic framework for human spaceflight cooperation by the end of 2023”.She said during the visit, India’s US Defense acceleration ecosystem was launched.

“It is a network of universities in the startup industry and think tanks which will facilitate joint defense technology innovation and help co-produce Advanced Defense Technology between industries of India and the United States of America”.The Minister said the Prime Minister’s visit also helped in actualizing the India- US new and emerging renewable energy technologies action platforms.

“The launch of this platform will accelerate cooperation in green hydrogen, offshore and onshore wind and other emerging technologies” she added. (UNI)
