Wayanad, (Thestates.news) | Former Congress president and sitting MP Rahul Gandhi, was leading with a margin of 3,13,001 votes against CPI national women leader and Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate Annie Raja from Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala on Tuesday. Malayalam cine star and BJP candidate Suresh Gopi of NDA was leading with a margin of 72,763 votes against V S Sunil Kumar of LDF in Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency, UDF candidate K Muralidharan was still in third spot.
While Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal (54,324 votes lead – Alappuzha), Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and sitting MP, K Sudhakaran (79,457 votes lead in Kannur). Shafi Parambil (98,470 votes lead in Vadakara) , VK Sreekandan (73,328 votes lead in Palakkad), Franxis George (74,031 votes lead in Kottayam); Benny Behnan (37,822 votes lead in Chalakudy).
While IUML candidates E T Muhammed Basheer (2,35,5555 votes lead in Malappuram) and Abdu Samad Samadhani (192199 votes in Ponnani ), M K Raghavan (1,14,267 votes lead in Kozhikode), Dean Kuriakose ( 1,28,3361 votes lead in Idukki) and Hibi Eden (2,26,540 votes lead in Ernakulam) and N K Premachandran (1,07197 votes lead in Kollam). Sitting MP’s Hibi Eden and M K Raghavan have increased their margin from the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Sitting MPs Rajmohan Unnithan (45,329 votes lead in Kasaragod), Benny Behnan (37,822 votes lead in Chalakudy), Anto Antony (37,822 votes lead in Pathanamthitta).
Congress candidate Shashi Tharoor is leading by 13,666 votes from Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency against Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and thrilling triangular competitions was going on at Attingal Lok Sabha constituency, UDF candidate Adoor Prakash was leading with just 1877 votes against V Joy, while Union Minister V Muraleedharan is still on third spot.
CPI(M) consolation surely came through Kerala Devaswom and SC/ST minister K Radhakrishnan of LDF was leading with a margin of 24,730 votes against sitting MP Ramya Haridas of Congress led (UDF) in Alathur constituency. Only one Kerala minister has contested in this election. NDA candidate Suresh Gopi may have opened their first account for BJP in Kerala Lok Sabha, earlier former union minister PC Thomas won for NDA in 2004 Lok Sabha election from IFDP.
Congress led UDF is leading in 18 seats, while NDA and LDF leading on one seat each at Thrissur and Alathur out of 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala.(UNI)
