Chief Minister Mr. Baghel spoke to the Union Railway Minister regarding the restoration of trains

Raipur (thestates.news)    : Railway Ministry orders restoration of six important passenger trains after intervention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel . Union Ministry of Railways has issued an order to restore the operation of 6 important passenger trains passing through Chhattisgarh after the intervention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. This includes Chhattisgarh Express, Samta Express, and Secunderabad-Raipur-Secunderabad Express. It is worth mentioning here that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel spoke to the Union Railway Minister on Tuesday asking him to continue the operation of the aforementioned train services in view of convenience of the passengers.

Meanwhile, the operation of a total of 23 express and local trains passing through Chhattisgarh has been stopped for the next one month from April 24, 2022, through an order issued by Principal Chief Operations Manager, South-East Central Railway, Bilaspur on April 23, 2022.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had strongly opposed this decision of the Railways and as per his instructions, the Additional Chief Secretary wrote a letter to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board urging to continue the operation of trains passing through Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while having a discussion with the Union Railway Minister on Tuesday aware of the problems being faced by the rail passengers due to the sudden suspension of trains for one month without any alternative arrangement. The Chief Minister said that a major chunk of the passengers in the state belongs to the middle and lower class, who reach their destination daily by traveling in these trains. Besides, due to the closure of local trains, a large number of common people including students are facing difficulties in their daily travel.
