Raipur (thestates.news) Dr. Sandeep Gandhi, the Registrar of Kalinga University welcomed the newly admitted students of the Science stream by telling them stories from the ancient Indian texts of Ramayana, Mahabharata and Shiv Puran which correspond to modern scientific techniques
like In-vitro Fertilization, Organ transplant and Inter-continental Ballistic Missiles. He urged
the students to explore and take inspiration from India’s glorious past and re-discover ancient
knowledge and make India ‘Vishv Guru’ again.
The University welcomed students enrolled in the Department of Science, Arts and Humanities, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Law (BBALLB), and Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BALLB), as part of the ongoing induction program First Step 2024 organized by the Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW) Department. The induction program commenced with a warm traditional welcome at the university entrance, where new students were greeted with the rhythmic beats of the traditional Dhol and Tilak ceremony. A video presentation provided students with an overview of Kalinga University, its history, and its achievements. A fun game called ‘Guess the Sound’ was played during the warm-up session to kick off the day.
The event proceeded with the introduction and welcome of all dignitaries with potted plants. Also present on the occasion were Dean of Science Dr. R Jayakumar, In-Charge Dean of Students’ Welfare Lt. Vibha Chandrakar, Director – Marketing and Admissions Mr. Abhishek Sharma and Marketing Manager Mr. J Vishal and others.
A series of cultural performances added vibrancy to the event. Welcome dance, Group dance,
Quiz on University Knowledge Activities, Band performance Paper dress-making competition where students showcased their creativity by designing innovative paper outfits are the few events that made the event more exciting. Winners were presented with gifts by Lt. Vibha Chandrakar – Incharge, Dean Students’ Welfare, Ms. Megha Chaturvedi and Ms. Lipsa Dash, Assist. Professors at Kalinga University.
The Career and Corporate Resource Centre (CCRC) session, led by Mr. Saurabh Banwar,
Manager of CCRC provided students with valuable insights on career guidance. In the post-
lunch session, Dr. Rahul Mishra, Dean of Academic Affairs, presented an informative
session on the student code of conduct and academic guidelines.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Lt. Vibha Chandrakar. The program
was expertly anchored by Ms. Alisha Yadav, a 3rd-year B.Com student, and Mr. Sajal, a
3rd-semester B.Com Banking and Finance student.
