Mumbai, (Thestates.news) | The equity market remained on top for another session on Friday as the BSE Sensex rallied 181.87 pts to close at 76992.77, a lifetime high as buying was seen in Capital Goods, Consumer Durable and Telecommunications stocks amid mixed global cues. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 66.90 pts at 23465.60.
Despite volatility, the Sensex kept its rally intact for another session on Friday as the BsE Sensex opened strong at 76912.38, rising 102 pts. It was gained further by 271 pts at 77081.30, day high.
Later, due to profit booking by local operators, it slipped 261 pts 76549.05, days low. However, it was finished at 76992.77, surging 181.87 pts from its previous close.
The NSE registered days high and low at 23490.40 and 23334.25 pts respectively. The stocks that glittered were Capital Goods by 1.62 pc, Consumer Durable by 1.38 pc, and Telecommunications by 1.31 pc. In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined. The Mid Cap rose 1.18 pc and small Cap by 0.81 pc.
The gainers were M& M by 2.20 pc to Rs 2927.15, Titan by 1.68 pc to Rs 3530.05, HDFC Bank by 0.96 pc to Rs 1596, Reliance Industries by 0.79 pc to Rs 2952 and Bajaj Finance by 0.72 pc to Rs 7343. The losers were Tech Mahindra by 1.48 pc to Rs 1369.50, TCS by 1.17 pc to Rs 3832.10, Wipro by 1.10 pc to Rs 477 10, and HCL Technology by 0.98 pc to Rs 1430. European market was seen as weak while the Asian Market witnessed a mixed trend. (UNI)
