Sensex ends all-time high at 76468.78 pts

Mumbai (Thestates.news)| Surpassing its previous records, the equity market zoomed on Monday as BSE Sensex spurted 2507.47 pts to close at a new peak breaching 76K level to 76468.78 after the prediction of a landslide victory to NDA-led Modi government for a third time in Lok sabha elections. Prospects of political stability and policy continuity also boosted the market. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) surged 733.20 pts at 23,263.90.  
The NSE registered days high and low at 23,338.70 and 23062.30 pts respectively.

The BSE Sensex opened on a strong note at 76583.29, up 2622 pts. During the day it spurted 2777 pts at 76738, days high before closing at 76468.78 surging 2507.47 pts from its previous close. The stocks that glittered were Power by 7.60 pc, Oil and Gas by 7.42 pc, Utilities by 7.38 pc, and Energy by 6.28 pc. In 30 scrips, 27 advanced while 3 declined. The Mid Cap rose by 3.54 pc and the small Cap by 2.05 pc.

The gainers were SBI by 9.60 pc to Rs 909.80, NTPC by 9.50 pc to Rs 393, Powergrid by 9.07 pc to Rs 338, and L& T by 6.31 pc to Rs 3898.75. The losers were Sun Pharma by 0.35 pc to Rs 1455, HCL Technology by 0.22 pc to Rs 1319.90, and Asian Paints by 0.13 pc to Rs 2874. (UNI)
