Sensex marginally up 33.02 pts

Mumbai (Thestates.news)| Extending gains for the fourth consecutive session on Friday the BSE Sensex rose 33.02 pts to close at 81,086.21 on the strength of BSE Services, Auto, and Telecommunications stocks. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 11.65 pts at 24,823.15. Despite high volatility, the equity market ended positive only, as the BSE Sensex rallied 112 pts to open at 81,165.65. It was spurted 178 pts at 81,231.49, a day high before closing at 81,086.21 from its previous close.

Meanwhile, it dipped 170 pts to 80,883.26, a day low. The NSE registered days high and low at 24,858.40 and 24,771.65 pts respectively. The stocks that advanced were BSE Services by 1.07 pc, Auto by 0.93 pc, and Telecommunications by 0.11 pc. The Mid-cap fell by 0.66 pc while the Small-cap rose by 0.15c pc. In 30 scrips, 15 advanced, 13 declined while 2 remained unchanged.

The gainers were Tata Motors by 1.58 pc to Rs 1085.50, Sun Pharma by 1.44 pc to Rs 1775.75, Bharti Airtel by 1.40 pc to Rs 1507.50, Bajaj Finserv by 1.15 pc to Rs 1645 and ICICI Bank by 1.07 pc to Rs 1203.80. The losers were Tech Mahindra by 1.17 pc to Rs 1592, HCL Technology by 0.93 pc to Rs 1660, and Asian Paints by 0.86 pc to Rs 3157.50. (UNI)
