Sensex rises 48 points

Mumbai  (Thestates.news)| After registering huge gains on Thursday, the BSE Sensex on Friday appeared relatively calm, rising 48 points to open at 73,711.31 on the strength of Auto, Utilities and Bankex stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) was seen flat at 22,415.25, up 3 points.
The NSE registered the days high and low at 22,330 and 22,225.85 points, respectively.
The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 73,431.25 and 73,345.65 points, respectively.
The Mid cap advanced 0.67 per cent and Small Cap by 0.67 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 14 advanced while 16 declined.
The gainers were M&M by 6.27 per cent to Rs 2,521.70; Tata Motors by 0.99 per cent to Rs 945.65; SBI by 0.84 per cent to Rs 818.75; Ultracemco by 0.75 per cent to Rs 9,779.85 and NTPC by 0.69 per cent to Rs 363.90.
The losers were L&T by 0.84 per cent to Rs 3,430.50; Nestle India Ltd by 0.79 per cent to Rs 2,447.80; Maruti Suzuki by 0.77 per cent to Rs 12,398.95 and Asian Paints by 0.67 per cent to Rs 2,795.50. (UNI)
