Mumbai (Thestates.news)|The BSE Sensex on Tuesday gained 159.40 pts to close at 63,327.70 on the strength of Power, Auto, Realty and IT stocks.The Nifty too surged 61.25 pts at 18,816.70 pts.
A see saw trend was witness in the market today, as the Sensex opened on a almost steady level at 63,176.77, rising 8 pts. It was rallied 272 pts at 63,440.19, days high. In late trade it was slipped nearly 367 pts at 62,801.91 pts, days low, before closing at 63,327.70, registering gain of 159.40 pts from its last close.

The stocks like Power, Utilities, Auto and IT supported the market.Power went up by 1.02 pc followed by Utilities by 0.94 pc, Auto by 0.85 pc and IT by 0.78 pc.In scrips, Tata Motors was a star gainer, rose by 3.16 pc to Rs 583.60 followed by Power by 2.72 pc to Rs 249.60, HCL Technology by 2.68 pc to Rs 1108, NTPC by 1.21 pc to Rs 187.95 and Axis Bank by 0.96 pc to Rs 975.
The Mid-Cap moved up by 0.47 pc and Small cap by 0.40 pc.
In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined. (UNI)
