Gangtok, (thestates.news)|Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang has handed over Reshmi Prasad Alley awards to filmmaker Ugen Chopel and author Madhu Sudan for their contribution to arts and literature. Tamang was the chief guest at the awards ceremony on Friday.The awards have been Instituted by Pragya Pratishtan.Late Reshmi Alley, born in Assam in 1898, is credited with having initiated efforts to introduce Nepali language in schools in 1920. He was a teacher at the Nepali Boys School here. (UNI)
