Sikkim Foundation Day Celebrated at Maharashtra Raj Bhavan

Mumbai (Thestates.news)|The Foundation Day of Sikkim was celebrated for the first time at Maharashtra Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Tuesday .Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, accompanied by Smt Rambai Bais presided over the programme. The Sikkim Foundation Day was organised at Maharashtra Raj Bhavan as part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative of the Government of India.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said India is a beautiful bouquet of diverse cultures, languages, dance forms, cuisines. He said organisation of Foundation Days of various States will promote better understanding among people and strengthen the cause of national integration.
A cultural troupe from Sikkim presented the Sikkim Dance Ghatu, Sorati, Tamang Selo and Maruni and Sikkim’s Instrumental music on the occasion.
The programme also showcased the Shiva Vandana and Lavani Dance from Maharashtra and concluded with the presentation of the Coronation Ceremony of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
