Sowing of more rabi crops than predicted in Chhattisgarh

Rabi crop in Chhattisgarh increased by 5.77 percent this year compared to the previous Rabi season

Pulse cultivation in 45 percent of the target area

Raipur (thestates.news)| In Chhattisgarh, rabi crops have been sown in 19.36 lakh hectares, which is 101 percent of the target of 19.25 lakh hectares set for the rabi crops, achieving the target of a 5% increase in rabi crop area this year. In Chhattisgarh, 18.30 lakh hectares were cultivated in the previous rabi season. With a 5% increase in rabi area this year, a total sowing target of 19.25 lakh hectares has been set.

Rabi crops have been sown in 19.36 lakh hectares in the state, which is 5.77 percent more than last year’s rabi crop area, according to Agriculture Department data. Due to the arrangement of purchase on support price and encouragement of pulses (dalhan) crops, the trend of pulses cultivation among farmers has increased rapidly. Pulses are being sown in 8.65 lakh hectares during the current rabi season, accounting for 45 percent of the area proposed for rabi crop cultivation this year.
