Stock market ups and downs amid volatility

New Delhi, (thestates.news): On the last trading day of the week, a strong trend is seen in the domestic stock market. In the early trade, both Sensex and Nifty indices are trading strongly despite facing volatility. The stock market today started trading on a firm footing supported by strong global cues and despite facing some selling blips, it still looks to trade strongly. So far, among the stock market heavyweights Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel, Titan Company, Hindalco Industries, JSW Steel and SBI Life Insurance are trading strongly supported by buying. On the other hand, shares of Eicher Motors, Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Reliance Industries and Asian Paints continued to decline.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex started trading today with a strength of 275.95 points. As soon as the market opened, there was a buying force, due to which the Sensex gained 546.93 points to reach 59,321.65 points in a short time. However, after this there was selling pressure in the market and in the first half-hour of trading, the Sensex fell to the level of 59,049.19 points. Even after this, the stock market continued to fluctuate due to the pull of buying and selling. The Sensex was trading at a level of 59,121.59 with a gain of 346.87 points at 10:15 am after trading for the first 1 hour amid continuous buying and selling.

Like the Sensex, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also started trading today with a strength of 96.85 points from the level of 17,619.30 points. In early trade, the Nifty also gained 163.40 points to reach the level of 17,685.85 points with the support of buying. After this, sharp selling started in the market. Due to sharp selling, the Nifty fell to the level of 17,613.75 points in half an hour of trading. Since then, there has been continuous buying and selling in the market. After trading for the first 1 hour between continuous buying and selling, the Nifty was trading at a level of 17,633.95 with a gain of 111.50 points at 10:15 am.

Due to strong global cues, in the pre-opening session also, the domestic stock market started trading with strength today. In this session, the BSE Sensex was up 201.62 points, or 0.34 percent, at the level of 58,976.34 points. On the other hand, Nifty was up 54 points, or 0.31 percent, at the level of 17,576.50 in the pre-opening session. Before this, on the last trading day i.e. on Thursday, the Sensex closed at 58,774.72 points with a weakness of 310.71 points or 0.53 percent. On the other hand, the Nifty had ended Thursday’s trading at the level of 17,522.45, down 82.50 points or 0.47 percent.(H.S.)
