The wave of Chhattisgarhiya Olympics has spread everywhere

Everyone from children to senior citizens is participating in traditional games with enthusiasm

Raipur (thestates.news) To increase the interest of people in the traditional games of Chhattisgarh, the State Government is organizing Chhattisgarhiya Olympics in the cities and villages of the state. There is a lot of enthusiasm about this grand tournament in everyone from children to youngsters, men, and women. People belonging to all social classes are extensively participating in traditional games.

The State Government is committed to the task of the conservation and protection of the tradition and culture of Chhattisgarh. In the same way, it is striving to preserve the heritage of traditional games of the state like Kancha, Bhawra, Kabaddi, kho kho, langdi race, and 100 m. race, chair race, Pitthul, Gedi race, Billas Fugdi, Gilli Danda, Long jump, etc. While people are participating in these traditional game competitions in large numbers, crowds are also gathering to encourage the players. Even old people who haven’t played these games for a long time can be seen in the playgrounds while reliving the memories of their past days. This tournament is being organized in 6 phases. So far, competitions in two phases have been held. Through this event, the State Government has helped people who were unaware of their own talent to showcase their expertise in sports.

Organizing Committees have been set up
Organizing committees have been set up at different levels of development block and urban clusters for organizing sports tournaments at the zone level and Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club.

Homely women are also participating
Women from rural zones who are always busy with domestic work are also getting an opportunity to showcase their talents in the Chhattisgarhiya Olympics. This has generated enthusiasm amongst women and they are participating not in one but many games.

Different prize amounts have been decided for solo and group competitions
Different prize amounts have been decided for solo and group competitions in all age groups. In the group sports category, the first prize is Rs. 10,000; the second prize is Rs. 7,500, and the third prize is Rs. 5000. Similarly, in solo competitions, the first prize is Rs. 1,000, the second prize is Rs. 750, and the third prize is Rs. 500.
