UP govt wants to hide its failure in Hathras incident: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow,( |Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav said on Saturday that the Uttar Pradesh government wants to hide its failure in the ‘Hathras incident’ and shirk responsibility for the deaths of hundreds of people by making minor arrests.
In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said that if this happens, it will mean that no one has learned any lesson from the administrative failure in such events, and such accidents will be repeated in the future as well. He said that the government is needlessly arresting people who were away from the original venue with some specific intention and is preparing to hold them guilty after the arrest.

“These arrests are a conspiracy in itself. There should be an immediate judicial inquiry into these arrests, so that the game of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in UP can be brought before the public,” he said.He said that this is condemnable, if the BJP government says that it had nothing to do with such an event, then it has no right to remain in power.

“Most of the poor people who came to this program were unhappy, exploited, afflicted, deprived, and suppressed; on this basis, it also means that the BJP government has no concern with such people,” he alleged. The SP chief said that it is the responsibility of the government to make proper arrangements for traditional religious events. “So that there is no obstruction or inconvenience of any kind,” he said.(UNI)
