Vigilance Awareness Week concludes with various programs in SECL

Bilaspur (Thestates.news), Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 in South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) concluded on 08.11.2023. The valedictory function was held at Ravindra Bhawan, Vasant Vihar with Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission Dr. Praveen Kumari Singh (IRPS) serving as Chief Guest in the presence of Chairman cum Managing Director Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, Director (Finance) Shri G. Srinivasan, Director Technical (Operations & Planning/Project) Shri S.N. Kapri, Director (Personnel) Shri Debasis Acharyya and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Jayant Kumar Khamari.
Chief Guest, Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission, Dr. Praveen Kumari Singh (IRPS) in his address said that the activities of SECL under Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 have ensured participation of various sections of the society, especially villagers and school-college children, to make them aware against corruption which has carried the CVC’s message of staying vigilant against corruption far and wide, which is highly commendable. She also said that we should not forget Vigilance Awareness after the end of Vigilance Awareness Week, but should make it a part of our lifestyle and keep working on it continuously.
On this occasion, Chairman cum Managing Director Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, while extending a hearty welcome and thanks to the Chief Guest on behalf of the SECL family, said that every employee working in SECL is committed to comply with the various orders and instructions issued by the Vigilance Commission. He said that through Mission FITE (Fairness, Integrity, Transparency, and Equality), we are working to inculcate a sense of integrity in our employees towards their work, while through Mission Jatayu, all the officers and employees of SECL are being encouraged to oppose corrupt practices and always be alert against corruption.
Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Jayant Kumar Khamari, while welcoming the attendees and expressing his gratitude to the guests present on the stage including the Chief Guest, said that this year’s theme of Vigilance Awareness is ‘Say no to corruption, commit to the nation’. During the Vigilance Awareness Week, special focus has been laid on awareness, capacity building programs towards PIDPI in SECL. To generate awareness on PIDPI in villages in SECL’s operational areas Gram Sabhas were also organized. PIDPI awareness message was widely spread through radio jingles, caller tunes, telecalls, street plays, short films, films in PVR multiplexes on Akashvani-FM. Efforts were made for public awareness. During 16 August to 15 November, we provided training to around 50 percent officers of SECL on subjects like Public Procurement, IO/PO training, ethics and governance etc. through subject matter experts.
Online Vigilance Complaint Monitoring Portal “Nigraani” was launched in collaboration with System Department, SECL Headquarters. A positive message about vigilance awareness was given to the people through debates, essays and painting competitions in various schools, colleges, headquarters Bilaspur, all areas of SECL, while the message of vigilance awareness was also spread among the city residents through walkathon.
At the beginning of the program, saplings were planted by the chief guest, after which the program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the chief guest at the venue. Coal India corporate song was played on this occasion. On this occasion, the Vigilance Awareness Week pledge was read by the chief guest, which was repeated by all present. On this occasion, a short video on Online Vigilance Complaint Monitoring System portal and the activities conducted at SECL Headquarters and various areas during Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 were screened. A welcome song was presented by the children of DAV in the program. At the end of the program, the winners of various competitions organized during the Vigilance Awareness Week were awarded by the guests on the stage. Various cultural programs were also presented on this occasion.
At the end of the program Director (Finance) Shri G Srinivasan gave the vote of thanks and the program was anchored by by Mrs. Ranjana Mishra, Mr. Mohnish Chengappa Manager (Personnel/Vigilance), Dr. Sanish Chandra (Public Relations Officer).
