Virat Kohli becomes first batsman to score 7k runs in IPL

Mumbai,(thestates.news) : Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian cricket team and star batsman of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has achieved a historic feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL)to become the first player to score 7,000 runs in IPL and for RCB. Kohli achieved this feat during the match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Wankhede Stadium. He created history as soon as he scored 57th run in this match.

Kohli is also the highest run-scorer in the history of the league, followed by Shikhar Dhawan (6,205), Rohit Sharma (5,877), David Warner (5,876), Suresh Raina (5,528) and AB de Villiers (5,162). Talking about the match against Gujarat, in this match, Gujarat batted first and scored 168 runs for 5 wickets. For Gujarat, Captain Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 62 off 47 balls while playing a fine half-century. Apart from Pandya, David Miller scored 34, Wriddhiman Saha 31 and Rashid Khan scored 19 runs off 6 balls.

For RCB, Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets, Glenn Maxwell and Wahindu Hasaranga took 1-1 wickets. In reply, RCB won the match by scoring 170 for 2 wickets in 18.4 overs. For RCB, Virat Kohli scored 73, captain Faf du Plessis scored 44 and Glenn Maxwell scored 40 not out. Rashid Khan took both the wickets for Gujarat.(HS)
