WHO honours 10 lakh ASHA workers for Covid work

New Delhi,(thestates.news) : The World Health Organization (WHO) honoured one million women ASHA workers from India for their important role in the campaign against the corona virus pandemic in the country. Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has congratulated all the ASHA workers on being honoured with the Global Health Leaders Award by the Director General of the WHO. Mandaviya in a tweet on Monday said that ASHA workers are at the forefront of healthcare delivery and have played an important role in prevention and management of corona infection. ASHA workers have played a vital role in door-to-door locating and providing health services to patients during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.(H.S.)
