New Delhi,(thestates.news): Armed commandos from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) provided Yashwant Sinha, the joint opposition candidate for president, with Z security protection on Friday. The Z category is the second-highest level of security protection available to high-risk individuals in the country. Officials claim that as the 84-year-old leader moves about the country, commandos are always at his side. They will work in shifts of eight to ten people.
A former minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee administration, Mr. Sinha, joined the Trinamool Congress in March 2021. (TMC). However, he left the party right away after being chosen earlier this week as the presidential candidate of the unified opposition. On June 27, 2022, Mr.Sinha will file his nomination. Additionally, Sinha will be visiting Bihar & Jharkhand for two days starting today.
Days earlier, on behalf of the government, CRPF commandos provided Z security protection for Droupadi Murmu, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Murmu will visit lawmakers and leaders of various political parties across the country to ask for their support for her candidacy. The task of protecting Murmu from outside threats has been given to a detachment of 14–16 commandos with a base in Odisha. The presidential election will take place on July 18 and the results will be made public on July 21. On July 24, President Ram Nath Kovind’s term will come to an end.(H.S)
