  • From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, from Italy to Indonesia, the herbal gulaal and incense sticks produced by this self-help group are being exported all the way

Raipur ( thestates.news) |Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today inspected the Livelihood Center situated in village Sankra of Paatan block in Durg district. Various activities are being conducted in this livelihood center and the products made here are being exported abroad. During the inspection, Chief Minister met the women working at the livelihood center. They thanked Chief Minister for providing them employment opportunities through the livelihood center. They told Chief Minister that they get Rs 200 per day as honorarium besides the profit share

Manager of the Livelihood Center informed that the herbal gulal manufactured at the center has been recently exported to Italy as well. In Italy, ‘Run for unity’ is organized in various cities. In this 5 kilometer run,  thousands of people participate and Herbal Gulal is used on a large scale to celebrate. This year, 75 tons of herbal gulal was used in this event, all of which was supplied from Sankra. Chief Minister lauded this achievement of the livelihood center and the self-help group engaged here. Manager further told that the Ashtagandha produced here is sold all over India, especially at the religious centers such as Kashi, Puri. Manager said that on a regular basis, 20 to 25 tons of consignment is supplied from the livelihood center to abroad through Mundra port.

On being asked, members of the self-help group told Chief Minister that they collect flowers on a large scale every day from various temples of the district and utilize it to make herbal gulal. Women here also make Chunri (drape offered to Goddess at temple). Congratulating the women at Aajeevika Kendra (Livelihood Center), Chief Minister said- “you are supplying these goods not only in the state but also abroad. You are doing a commendable job. Your hard work is being appreciated in various parts of the world”. On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner  Mahadev Kande, IG Badrinarayan Meena, Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, SP Dr. Abhishek Pallav, District Panchayat CEO Ashwini Devangan and other officials and public representatives were present.
