75th Independence Day celebrated with great enthusiasm in Kalinga University Campus

Raipur ( thestates.news) | The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at the Kalinga University Campus, Naya Raipur with great enthusiasm on Monday, August 15, 2022. The celebration was part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' which
is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate 75 years of progressive India and remarkable
achievements by Indians in all spheres of human endeavour.

Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. R Shridhar, Vice Chancellor of Kalinga University, he hoisted the
National flag in presence of Dr Asha Ambhaikar, Dean Students Welfare, all other Deans and Heads of Departments, faculty members and large numbers of students. Rich tributes were paid to the martyrs. In his address Dr Shridhar stressed that after independence India has proved itself as a country with deep rooted democracy. After Independence in 1947 few countries were of opinion that the states would divide into different countries in next 10 years, as there were over 1000 language and dialects. People had no knowledge of democracy and literacy rate was 30 percent. The country has proved that we are is democratic and people speak different languages.
He stressed that recession can never come to the country as Wheat is being grown in our country and entire country is not dependent on other countries for food. Indian economy therefore was proved to be a recession proof. Indian have proved that despite different language and diversity Indians are united. It is true picture of unity in diversity. He said we should take oath to democracy. Every Indian has right to speech, right to express, right to follow religion, it’s all gift of our leaders who developed the country. It is our responsibility to keep democracy alive and we should take oath and do something for
the country. He opined that ‘Whatever job you are doing, do it whole heartedly’.
Dr Smita Premanand, Faculty of Fashion Designing presented patriotic poem before the audience and gave message of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga movement’. Dr A Rajshekhar, Faculty of Geography department presented poetry on patriotism. He paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who fought for the freedom of country and soldiers who are constantly protecting boarders of country.

Dr Abhishek Tripathi, Dean of Commerce and Management gave a motivational speech on a school teacher Surya Sen from Chittagong and contributions made by our Political leaders after independence. Students holding National flag presented Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindusatan Hamara song at the Kalinga University Auditorium.
Dr Asha Ambhaikar, Dean Students Welfare proposed vote of thanks. Mrs Jasmin Joshi, Faculty Commerce and Management was Master of the ceremony. Dr A Vijayanand, Dr Smita Premanand, Dr Komal Gupta, Mr Omprakash Dewangan, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Mr Simon George, Lt. Vibha Chandrakar, Mrs Preeti Manhar, Mr Rajkumar Das, Mr Sheikh Abdul Kadir, Mr Yunus Rizvi, Mr. Harsh Khare, Mr. Mahesh Safi, Mr Toshan Tarak, Mr Uttam Tarone and large numbers of students were present during the celebration. Sweets were distributed at the end of the programme.
