Raipur (thestates.news) | Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today called for greater recognition of skill, hard work and creativity as the foundations of development, saying that the teachings of Bhagwan Vishwakarma carry the message of the dignity of labour and the pursuit of excellence.
On the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, Shri Sai performed traditional rituals and worshipped Bhagwan Vishwakarma—the revered deity of creation, craftsmanship and construction—at his residence in Raipur. He prayed for the prosperity, happiness and continued progress of Chhattisgarh. Advisor to the Chief Minister Shri R. Krishna Das, Press Officer Shri Alok Singh, and other officers and employees of the Chief Minister’s Residence were present on the occasion.
Paying his respects to Bhagwan Vishwakarma, Shri Sai extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Chhattisgarh, particularly workers, artisans, engineers, technicians and those associated with the industrial and construction sectors.
Shri Sai said Bhagwan Vishwakarma symbolises creativity, skill, dedication and excellence. His worship inspires people to use their knowledge, skills and hard work in the service of society and the nation. Vishwakarma Jayanti is not only an occasion of faith and tradition but also a reminder to honour labour and recognise the contribution of skilled hands to development.
Chief Minister Shri Sai further said that workers, artisans, technicians and builders make a significant contribution to the progress of every state and nation. From farms and factories to small establishments and large industries, and from traditional crafts to modern technology, their labour and talent shape economic and social progress.
Chhattisgarh has long been known for its hardworking people and rich craft traditions. Generations of artisans have preserved the state’s cultural heritage through their skills, while workers, engineers and young professionals in technical fields are contributing to the development of modern Chhattisgarh. The combination of traditional knowledge and modern technology can give fresh impetus to the state’s growth, Chief Minister Shri Sai said.
Shri Sai emphasised that labour is not merely a means of livelihood but also a force for creation and nation-building. Respecting the work of every labourer and the skill of every artisan is a social responsibility. He said millions of workers, artisans and people engaged in construction across Chhattisgarh are helping move the state forward, with their skills and hard work forming a strong foundation for a prosperous and developed Chhattisgarh.
