Chief Minister Makes Three Major Announcements for Workers at State-Level Conference on Vishwakarma Jayanti

Raipur (thestates.news) |Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai made three major announcements for workers at the State-Level Workers’ Conference organised on Vishwakarma Jayanti at Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Raipur on September 17. He also transferred more than Rs 51.32 crore in financial assistance through DBT to the bank accounts of over 1.43 lakh workers under 26 schemes administered by various Labour Department boards.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said Chhattisgarh’s workers are writing a new chapter in creating a prosperous and developed state through hard work, determination and toil.

Extending greetings on Vishwakarma Jayanti, the Chief Minister said Lord Vishwakarma symbolises construction and creation and inspires society to respect labour and take pride in skills. He described the state’s workers as the “Vishwakarmas of a developed Chhattisgarh”. He said ensuring their dignity, social security and the progress of their families is a priority of the State Government.

*Three Major Announcements for Workers*

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that modern Worker Facilitation Centres, equipped with essential amenities, would be established in cities at designated locations where workers gather to seek daily employment. These centres will provide seating, clean drinking water, mobile charging, and other basic facilities.

He also announced the introduction of an E-Bike Sahayata Yojana for registered workers to make their daily commute easier and strengthen their economic mobility.

In another major decision, assistance for unorganised-sector rickshaw drivers to purchase e-rickshaws will increase from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh, helping them shift to modern transport, strengthen self-employment, and improve their incomes.

The Chief Minister said the government’s objective is to bring lasting improvement in workers’ lives by combining social security with education for their children, economic opportunities for women and better prospects for youth.
