Raipur (thestates.news)| The Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has proposed the initiative to organize Sports Competition 2022 to encourage new players of the state and provide them with more and more opportunities in the field of sports. This competition will be held in all the urban and rural regions at the development block and district levels by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. It will be organized in the junior and sub-junior categories for both boys and girls. The winning teams and players will be given sports equipment as rewards and incentives.
At the development block level, Hockey, Football, Kabaddi, and Kho Kho will be played as group sports; under individual sports, athletics (400 m. run), badminton, and wrestling will be played.
At the district level, Hockey, Football, Kho kho, Kabaddi, Cricket, and two traditional sports from Chhattisgarh will be played as group sports; under individual sports, athletics (400 m. run), badminton, wrestling, and two traditional sports from Chhattisgarh will be played.
