AAROGYAM – A WAY TO HEALTY LIFE HEALTH TALK ORGANIZED BY WOMEN CELL KALINGA UNIVERSITY

Raipur (the states. news) Aarogyam , a session on health talk and personal hygiene was organized by the Women Cell, Kalinga University on February 19, 2021 at the Seminar Hall II at the Kalinga Campus from 1pm to 2pm. It was a noble initiative taken by the Women cell to bring about Health awareness among the supporting staff of Kalinga. The resources person invited for the occasion was Dr Shriya Ambhaikar,(MBBS) Intern Practitioner from Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

The session started with the warm welcome of the dignitaries Dr Asha Ambhaikar, DSW and Head Department of Computer Science Engineering, Dr Abhilasha Gaur Director IQAC, Dr Vineeta Diwan Incharge Women Cell, Ms Lincy Roy, Head HR. The Saraswati Vandana was followed by the introduction of the guests and sapling presentation, soon after which Dr Shriya gave her wonderful and informative presentation on Personal Hygiene and wellness. She addressed the supporting staff on maintaining hygiene during the menstrual periods and generated awareness on the symptoms of Breast and Uterus cancer, which when detected early
can save one’s life. She also demonstrated the proper process of washing hands that can save from many infectious diseases. Dr Shriya had an interactive session and one to one talk at the end of the session in which she listened to the health problems of the workers and suggested them preventive measures to be followed in daily routine. The session was thoroughly informative and enlightened the supporting staff on multiple health issues.

The session ended with the presentation of a memento to Dr Shriya Ambhaikar by Dr Asha Ambhaikar as a relic of the event. The photography session was successfully handled by Ms Avinash Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Arts and Humanities and the program was well supported by Mr Hindole Ghosh, Assistant DSW, Ms Ausuiya Incharge Medical Unit, Dr
Deepa Biswas , Assistant Professor Department of Botany, Ms Smita Premanand, Assistant Professor, Department of Fashion with their noteworthy contribution, Women cell is looking forward for such initiatives in future for generating awareness among women and women empowerment.
