CM pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri, and Poet Haji Hasan Ali on their birth anniversaries

Raipur (thestates.news) | Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel paid floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, former Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, and famous poet Haji Hasan Ali on their birth anniversaries at his residence office here today. Shri Girish Devangan, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation was also present on the occasion.

Recalling the invaluable contributions of Mahatma Gandhi to the nation, Chief Minister Shri Baghel stated that Gandhi Ji charted a new course for the Indian freedom movement. He embraced the principles of truth, love, and non-violence, serving as a global exemplar. The concept of ‘Gram Swaraj’ that he envisioned is being actively pursued by the Chhattisgarh Government.

Remembering late former Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Chief Minister Shri Baghel noted that Shastri Ji led a life of simplicity and dedicated his entire life to serving the underprivileged. He embodied the Gandhian ideals and played a pivotal role in India’s struggle for freedom. He provided efficient leadership to the country during the India-Pakistan war of 1965 and boosted the morale of the people by giving the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan’, due to which the entire country united. Shri Baghel stated that Karma Yogi like Shastri Ji will continue to serve as inspiration to the people.

Acknowledging the unique contributions of Shri Haji Hasan Ali in the field of Urdu language and literature, Chief Minister stated that Haji Hasan Ali, also known as ‘Hasan,’ undertook numerous initiatives to promote Urdu language. He authored several books aimed at facilitating the learning of Urdu from Hindi, thereby making it more accessible to those interested in acquiring proficiency in both languages. In honor of his achievements, the state government has established the State Honor in his name. Shri Baghel has stated that his literature will always shed light on understanding the Urdu language and popularize it among the common people.
