Guinness Book of World Records acknowledges record of 10 lakh ‘Selfies With Mati


Certificate presented in presence of Governor, CM, Dy CM Governor releases 4 volumes of works of Lok Shahir Annabhau Sathe

Mumbai (Thestates.news), A unique world record was created in the Guinness Book of World Records today under the campaign ‘Selfie with Meri Mati’ when more than 10 lakh school and college students and youth across the state posted their selfies with the soil in a gesture of expression of love for the motherland.  
The Guinness World Record certificate was presented by the officials of the Guinness Book in presence of Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais at the Convocation Hall of University of Mumbai. 
The ‘Selfie With Mati’ campaign was implemented by NSS and NYKS under the aegis of the Department of Higher and Technical Education as part of the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ initiative launched by the Government of India on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. 
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil, Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar, Deputy Chairperson of Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe, School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, former Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, NSS State Committee Member Rajesh Pandey, MU VC Dr Ravindra Kulkarni, SPPU Vice Chancellor Dr Suresh Gosavi and students were present.
Governor Ramesh Bais released 4 volumes (8 parts) of the complete works of Sahitya Ratna Lok Shahir Annabhau Sathe in presence of various dignitaries during the programme. 
Member Secretary of the Sahitya Ratna Lok Shahir Annabhau Sathe Charitra Sadhane Prakashan Samiti Prof. Sanjay Shinde spoke about the contents of the published volumes.
