Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh UT Formation Day celebrated in Maharashtra Raj Bhavan

Mumbai (Thestates.news), The Foundation Day of the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh was celebrated in Maharashtra Raj Bhavan in the presence of Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais on Tue (31 Oct).

The Union Territory Formation Day of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh was celebrated as part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative of Government of India.

Speaking on the occasion,  Governor Ramesh Bais said, Kashmir has been steadily progressing towards peace and prosperity during the last two years.  He said, a large number of tourists from Maharashtra are visiting Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and employment opportunities are opening for the people. The Governor said, new avenues of development and trade growth are  opening in the region. 

He said, the Foundation Day of Union Territories is not just a formal event, but it is a celebration of the unity in diversity of the nation.
 A cultural programme depicting the rich culture and traditions of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh was presented on the occasion. Students and artists of University of Mumbai and the student- artists sent by the Department of Tourism and Culture, Ladakh presented the cultural programme. 

Folk dance and folk music of Ladakh, the Hafiza dance, Jobro Folk Dance, Mata Vaishno Devi song, Kawwali and other cultural programs were presented.Special Secretary to the Governor Vipin Kumar Saxena, Secretary to Governor (I/C) Shweta Singhal, Comptroller of the Governor’s Households Arun Anandkar, invitees and officers and staff of Raj Bhavan were present.
