Jashpur’s bright minds witnessed Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly proceedings for the first time

Chief Minister announced free distribution of ‘Exam Warriors’ book to 9th-12th grade students from next academic session

Raipur (thestates.news) | The bright students from Jashpur, who recently came back from an exposure visit to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), were thrilled to observe the proceedings of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly today. During their visit, these children also had the privilege of meeting Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. Their excitement was palpable as they recounted their experiences from touring renowned technical institutions across the nation.

Following the directives of Chief Minister Shri Sai, students from the tribal-dominated Jashpur district were sent on a transformative journey to ISRO and IIT Madras. This initiative aimed to ignite their passion for cutting-edge technology and space science research. Reflecting on their journey, the students, who hail from various schools including Swami Atmanand English Medium School Pathalgaon, Bagicha and Jashpur, Sankalp Shikshan Sansthan Kunkuri, and Higher Secondary Girls School Bagicha, expressed their determination to excel in their studies and bring honour to their district and region.

Addressing the students, Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated them on their educational excursion and inquired about Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Pariksha Pe Charcha” programme and the book “Exam Warriors.” He announced that starting from the next academic session, the book “Exam Warriors” by Shri Narendra Modi will be distributed free of cost to students in grades 9th to 12th. Encouraging the students to carry on their studies with full dedication, he urged them to strive for excellence and make their families, schools, and the state proud.

School Education Minister Shri Brijmohan Agrawal commended the Chief Minister’s initiative in organizing the educational tour for the children of Jashpur district. He stressed the need for teachers to not only focus on academic studies but also to prioritize enhancing the general knowledge of children.

Meanwhile, the budget session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly commenced on February 5. These children, who journeyed from the remote forest area of Jashpur to the capital city of Raipur, witnessed the assembly proceedings for the first time today, adding yet another enriching experience to their educational journey.

Children enthralled by their first-time experience

The school children from Jashpur had the opportunity to witness the Speaker presiding over the assembly proceedings. Excitement filled the air as they observed the debates between the ruling party and the opposition in the assembly. For these children, seeing this temple of democracy in the state was a dream come true. Today marked a memorable day for these children.

During their interaction with the Chief Minister, the children expressed their joy at being there. Sakshi Kujur and Rahul Yadav, both class 11th students, shared their recent exposure visit to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR in Sriharikota. They recounted receiving detailed information about the mission command center, the scientists involved in the command center, rocket launch operations, command console operations, rocket launch stages, satellite deployment, and even astronaut landings in human missions. They also had the opportunity to view onboard camera video footage.

Furthermore, the children mentioned their educational tour of IIT Madras, where they visited the Heritage Center. They were provided with audio-visual information detailing the establishment of IIT Madras, its journey from 1959 to 2023, success stories, the geographical area of the institute, and the flora and fauna within its premises.

Children learn about Assembly Proceedings

The children who visited the Assembly were briefed on various proceedings including the Question Hour, Zero Hour, Budget Speech, and the role played by the opposition in the House. They were informed about the pillars of democracy, which include the Legislature, Executive, and Judiciary. Today, these children had the unique opportunity to learn about the Legislative Assembly, an integral component of the legislature.

Students and school staff also took pictures with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai to make their visit a memorable one. The students expressed their feelings of fulfilment, stating that today, it felt as if their dreams had come true. While they had previously read about the assembly in books and seen it on television, today marked their first firsthand experience, allowing them to truly understand it. The students conveyed their happiness at meeting the Chief Minister in person. MLAs Smt. Gomati Sai and Smt. Raymuni Bhagat were also present on this occasion.
